The evening was perfect on Monday for our outdoor potluck at Washington Park in Cedar Falls. Co-op friends of all ages joined together for food, friendship and fun. Guests arrived by bicycle and car, bringing delicious dishes to share including homemade chocolates, freshly squeezed juice, and a variety of refreshing salads among other delectable delights.
Guests included community members plus co-op member owners ranging from our newest member-owners to several who have been involved with this effort from the beginning. We even had a surprise visit from founding board member, Jaime Wilson who was back visiting from Arkansas.
Guests cheered as we announced our fabulous member growth in June as well as discussed the timeline for the Co-op name change process. But the biggest cheers arose when one of the kids in attendance helped draw the name for the kayak winner. Those who became new member-owners in June were eligible for the kayak along with member-owners who referred new member-owners in June. Our lucky kayak winner is Mary Brammer who was thrilled to learn this news. We are grateful to all who are investing in supporting their community through becoming member-owners of the Co-op!
