June was another great month for your Co-op! We ended the month numbering 967 member-owners getting us even closer to 1000!!! Thanks to all who joined – you are investing to support this community-owned cooperative business.
The month started with proud owner yard signs popping up at Co-op houses all over the area. We are grateful to the many volunteers who helped spread the word and get these signs out. We keep hearing from community members who love seeing these signs!
If you stopped in at Second State Brewing in downtown Cedar Falls in June, you saw our kayak on display hanging from their rafters. We are grateful to this business partner along with another, Crawdaddy Outdoors in Waverly who provided a great deal to us on the kayak AND delivered it to us in Cedar Falls. (See our Kayak Winner announcement in this newsletter to find out who won it!)
At the month’s end, the kayak was towed by bicycle in our Sturgis Parade entry with dozens of Co-op friends marching in support of this community endeavor. Thanks to the Schachterles of Signs and Designs for planning our parade entry and providing the amazing signs we carried. The enthusiasm that morning from our Co-op crowd as well as those lining the parade route made Rooty (and the rest of us) jump for joy!
Co-ops are about community, and we’ve seen such amazing support throughout June. Let’s continue the momentum and hit our goal of 1000 member-owners this summer. Each new founding member-owner gets us closer to opening the doors to our store.
